Ontario MLS® Home Sales & New Listing Rise in February
Residential sales activity reported through the MLS® Systems of real estate boards in Ontario numbered 12,787 units in February 2024. This was a sizable gain of 15.6% from February 2023. Active listings were 38.2% above the five-year average and 4.6% above the 10-year average for February. Residential sales activity reported through the MLS® Systems of real estate boards in Ontario numbered 9,509 units in January 2024. This was a sizable gain of 21.4% from January 2023. Months of inventory numbered 3.1 at the end of January 2024, down from the 3.3 months recorded at the end of January 2023 and above the long-run average of 2.8 months for this time of year. The more comprehensive annual average price was $872,312, a decline of 6.3% from all of 2022. This was a moderate decrease of -12.9% from November 2022. The more comprehensive year-to-date average price was $873,284, down by 6.7% from the first 11 months of 2022. Months of inventory numbered 4.4 at the end of November 2023, up from the 3 months recorded at the end of November 2022 and above the long-run average of 2.6 months for this time of year.
